Putting Sparkle Back Into The Cocktail
New Years is often associated with all things that sparkle – sequins, shine and, of course, lots of champagne. I have to confess, while I love the occasional glass of bubbly, time and again I find it goes straight to my head. Over the holidays, I discovered the new iSi Twist ‘N Sparkle at Williams-Sonoma in King of Prussia and I can officially say I’m obsessed.
This little device will breathe new life into your home bar, taking your favorite cocktail from ordinary to extraordinary. Why not kick off 2011 with a sparkling mojito, a peach amaretto fizz or a sparkling cosmopolitan? With a little carbonation, some fabulous ingredients and your imagination, anything is possible.
Sparkling Mojito

Ingredients:
1 ½ cups of your favorite light rum
1 cup of cold water
1/2 cup of fresh lime juice
1 lime, cut into pieces
4 – 8 tablespoons of superfine sugar
10 – 12 mint leaves, chopped
Directions:
Combine the light rum, water and lime juice in the Twist ‘n Sparkle and carbonate. Wait one minute before release.
In a glass, muddle 1 – 2 tablespoons of sugar, some lime and some mint to release the flavor. Continue among the remaining three glasses. When all the lime, sugar and mint have been muddled, fill the glasses with ice and add the carbonated mojito mixture.
Enjoy!
