Liberté For All

Last week I had lunch at one of the city’s hot spots, Liberté inside the Sofitel Philadelpha Hotel. They recently had a little work done and was completed earlier this year.  Liberté is beautiful with lush comfortable seating, relaxing new bar, grand lighting and new delicious menu.

My lunch started with the Charcuterie Plate. The plate came with the standards but also with a duck terrine with mushrooms, the best I’ve ever had. Next was the peach, roasted pepper and mint gazpacho. I’m not usually a fan of cold soup, but this one was AMAZING. You would think I would stop there, but I didn’t. For my main course I had the Pretzel Steak Sandwich. I had this because of the Philly twist, the pretzel. The sandwich was very good. It came with a perfectly cooked New York strip lion, shallot marmalade, arugula and piquillo pepper on a soft pretzel roll with crispy fries.

And lastly, if you know me I don’t eat a meal with out dessert. I also have to mention that the service throughout my lunch experience was impeccable. Great staff! Back to the dessert. Desserts come out to you on a large tray with every dessert offered. Everything from cakes and specialty treats. I picked the Baba Au Rhum Cake, it is heavenly.

Cheers to the Chef and staff at Liberté for an incredible experience! I highly recommend. For those of you who want a great lunch, in a time crunch and want it all, you must try the Executive Lunch for only $25. This deal includes soup, choice of salad, choice of main course and dessert. I think it’s the perfect “Power Lunch.”

Liberté is not only open for lunch. It’s the perfect location for cocktails, either for two or a large group. And a fabulous romantic dinner! For reservations call 215.569.8300 or
