Candice Kumai Pretty Delicious Giveaway
Regardless of the smatterings of rain and flurries that recently hit Philly, eyes are firmly
focused on shore weather. The thought of sand, sun and surf are comforting, however, one must keep in mind that prior to heading to the shore, one must shed the winter layers. Top Chef alum and Stiletto Chef, Candice Kumai, takes care of that for us in her fabulous book, Pretty Delicious: Lean and Lovely Recipes for a Healthy Happy New You.
I have been cooking from this lovely cookbook for over a month and the recipes are not only simple and healthy, but also delicious. Candice packs her menus with FWBs – Foods with Benefits. She builds her meals around FWBs such as sweet potatoes, quinoa, berries, etc. and says by doing so the “good stuff naturally takes center stage, while the stuff that should be eaten in moderation gets pushed into the wings in a supporting rule. The result is real food that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, is simple to prepare, and makes you gorgeous inside and out.” With recipes such as Skinny Eggs Benny, BBQ Ranch Chicken Chop Salad, Pan Seared Scallops with Skinny Pesto Fettuccine, Beverly Hills Fries with Honey-’Cue Sauce, and Lemon Babycakes, you won’t feel like you are eating healthy and you will look fabulous. And, when you are enjoying the warm summer sun in that to die for swimsuit, you will thank Candice for introducing you to FWBs which make life pretty delicious.
To help you get ready for Shore Season, PhillyStreetStyle.com will be giving away a copy of this fabulous cookbook to one lucky reader. I absolutely love Cooking Light’s Walnut and Rosemary Oven-Fried Chicken! It is oven “fried” so it’s not greasy and heavy. The panko gives it that extra crunch and the dijon mustard takes it to the next level!
