Simon Pearce – A Table’s Grace

As a food blogger, I often find myself looking at tableware as something that is not only aesthetically pleasing to me and my guests but also my readers. There are brands that have graced my table but none do it as well as Simon Pearce. Having been a long-time aficionado of Simon Pearce, I have a “bucket list” of sorts of various glassware and pottery that needs to be added to my ever growing collection. However, when it comes to the price – much like a gal can do a cost-per-use justification of handbags and stilettos – I have this internal argument of “to buy or not to buy.”

Sadly, Simon Pearce is shutting its West Chester doors in a few weeks and that has caused a bit of yet-to-buy remorse. I can see no reason why not to go visit the store, even if it is only to appreciate the gorgeous glassware and pottery and, perhaps, buy a couple items off of the proverbial bucket list. As the retail store is closing on February 13, 2011, there really is no excuse for not making one last visit. It’s the gracious thing to do.
