Celebrate National Cheesecake Day

The Cheesecake Factory is embracing its favorite holiday of the year – National Cheesecake Day – in a big way with a two-day celebration on Sunday July 30 and Monday July 31, offering dine-in guests any slice of its more than 30 legendary flavors of cheesecake for half price at any of its 193 restaurants nationwide.

In honor of this special holiday, The Cheesecake Factory debuts its newest cheesecake creation – Celebration Cheesecake, just in time for National Cheesecake Day. This delicious creation features layers of original cheesecake, vanilla cake, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla mousse topped with cream cheese frosting and finished with brightly colored confetti. It is so good!

The Celebration Cheesecake will be available beginning Sunday July 30, and for every slice sold through August, The Cheesecake Factory will donate 25 cents to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization.

One Slice of cheesecake per dine-in guest. Must be present. Offer valid at restaurants in the U.S.A. including Puerto Rico.

Must Visit

You MUST visit Niagara Falls Canada. It is amazing. If  you live on the East Coast, I highly recommend you take a quick road trip and see the beauty of Upstate New York and cross the bridge to Canada. Below are a few recommendations for “Must Do” in Niagara Falls:

See Niagara Falls from higher point of view with the Skylon Tower. This place is awesome and delightfully tacky in a good way. The Skylon Tower offers an up close view of the nightly Fireworks display. TIP: Sneak away to one of the gift shops and get lower priced merchandise, compared to other attractions.

Eat at the Flour Mill Restaurant located inside the Old Stone Inn. As noted on their website, “Everything is made to order and freshness is never compromised.” I completely agree. Along with the delicious offerings, the ambiance and décor is warm and inviting. TIP: Get a table with a fabulous velvet banquet, you will feel like a king or queen. Order the Orecchiette Bari Style and the AAA Grass Fed Strip – you wont be disappointed.

Tour and sip wines from Two Sisters Vineyards. A short drive and perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the tourist scene. This place is incredible! Try one of the tastings or “Exploring the Grape” at Two Sister Tour. TIP: Buy the 2016 Rose! And if you’re there during lunch hours, make a reservation at Kitchen 76 for a handmade pizza.

Experience Niagara Falls on the Hornblower Niagara Cruises Boat Tour. Unbelievable is the perfect word for this ultimate boat tour. I was apprehensive about this tourist attraction but was so satisfied when the experience was over. You get so close to the falls, that you can literally touch the water. TIP: Get a standing seat at the front of the boat for a falls soaked experience! This boat tour is a definite “Must Do” when in Niagara Falls.

Stay at Marriott on The Falls. Ideal location with access to tourist attractions and steps away from the falls. TIP: Book a room with a “Falls View”, you won’t want to leave your room. The staff is super friendly and happy to make your stay extra special.

You can thank me later. Happy Travels!

International Waffle Day

On Friday, March 24th we celebrate International Waffle Day! What better way to celebrate this tasty holiday than with the Fried Chicken and Waffles at Grand Lux Cafe. The Fried Chicken and Waffles entree is a golden fluffy waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar, topped with crispy fried chicken strips, freshly toasted pecans and decadent maple-butter sauce. This entree is the best balance of sweet and savory.

Waffle Day began in Sweden as Våffeldagen, actually due to confusion between the Swedish “vårfrudagen” meaning “Our Lady’s Day” which falls on the same date. The day historically marks the beginning of spring and is celebrated by the eating of many waffles.

Be sure to visit your nearest Grand Lux Cafe and order the Fried Chicken and Waffles. So delicious. Happy Spring and Happy Eating!
