The Perfect Spring Trench Coat

Spring calls for sprucing up your wardrobe and an updated trench is a must. The trench is the perfect accessory to your spring outfit, whether you’re wearing a dress, pants or a skirt. And of course essential for when the skies open up!

You can pair any color with a “see through” trench. I personally love adding a beautiful poppy or fuchsia with this fun item…gives your outfit just the right splash! That brings me to this glossy point d’esprit trenchcoat, rendered in a swingy silhouette, exudes the RED Valentino playful-meets-sophisticated aesthetic.

Rock the point d’esprit trench with skinny jeans, the perfect pump and amaze!

Seasonal Wrist Splendor

One can never have too many bracelets! They compliment your outfit and say something about you. When I see a woman or man wearing a bracelet or a full wrist party with three or more bracelets, it tells me they have personality and care enough to make a statement.

I’m currently obsessed with a fanciful bracelet whose design was inspired by 19th century iron gates. The Tiffany Enchant Link Bracelet by Tiffany & Co. gives your wrist extra zing and creates the perfect wrist party on its own. Wear this bracelet with your favorite cocktail dress or make the boys jealous at Sunday brunch!

Accessories are your best friend.

Tiffany Enchant Link Bracelet by Tiffany & Co, $1200.

When Life Gives You Lemons

It’s time to make fresh lemonade! One of my favorites is a delicious Strawberry Lemonade with a twist! Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey was first introduced to me by my dear friend Carol Drumstas-Curry a few years ago. Needless to say, I’ve had some very good times with Jack Honey and it’s a standard in my drinks of choice!

Here is my recipe for this spring/summer cocktail.

Jimmy’s Strawberry Lemonade with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey

  • 2 – 3 medium strawberries, hulled and quartered (about ¼ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • Ice
  1. In a 16-ounce or larger glass, place the strawberries and the sugar. Mash the berries against the side of the glass with a fork until they’re smashed and juicy.
  2. Stir in the hot water until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice and the cold water.
  4. Stir in the 3 0z. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey (1 large shot)
  5. Fill to the top with ice and serve.

Please remember to drink responsibly. Enjoy!

Popcorn Love

If you know me, you know I love popcorn! A few months ago a little shop named go popcorn opened, just blocks from my office. And I haven’t been able to stay away from popcorn flavors like; Zesty Ranch, Buttery “Movie Style”, Peanut Butter Cup, and “Chicago Style.”

I now eat popcorn at least three to four times a week and can’t get enough. go popcorn makes the most delicious popcorn with simple and quality ingredients. Their popcorn is locally grown in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. I still haven’t met or tasted something from Lancaster County that I didn’t like. go popcorn opened its first locations in Pittsburgh, recently in Philly’s Midtown District and plan to open more locations in the near future.

Thank you go popcorn for adding some “pop” to my step!

Color Me Happy

“Well color me happy, there’s a sofa in here for two!” That quote comes to mind when I’m shopping for a settee. Julia Roberts who played Vivian in the blockbuster hit, Pretty Woman, had no idea what a settee was at the time and neither did I.

And now being a middle aged gay man, I absolutely adore vintage inspired settees. Plus I know where every settee can be found within a 50 mile radius. I have my eye on this one named, Old Hickory Tannery “Devin” Settee. I must be honest, I haven’t touched it in person. The description alone had me sold, read here: “Curvaceous settee wearing damask-print upholstery in sunny yellow and accented with lime-washed feet evokes a cheerful spirit as it brings welcome seating to the room.” Wrap it up. It’s mine!

The next time you’re invited to my place “Devin” will greet you.

Old Hickory Tannery “Devin” Settee, $2299.
